As I recall, there may be a photo in Gilbert Kneiss' book, Redwood Railways. There certainly is a description. I did come across the above photo from the Sonoma County Library.
There is a reproduction of a page from The Illustrated Atlas of Sonoma County, published by Reynolds and Proctor in Bruce MacGregor's Birth of California Narrow Gauge, along with the photo Kyle mentioned (but Bruce found it at the SF Maritime Museum)
The map which Randy mentioned shows the line to Donahue ending in two spurs. One goes out to the depot on the ferry wharf. The other goes to the nearby town of Donahue.
Would expect there had to be a run-around track and possibly a way to turn the locomotive but neither is shown on this very generalized map.
In the Northwestern Pacific Railroad Historical Society archive I remember a map entitled "line to the ferry terminal." It may be the line to Donahue but it shows only the line ending at the ferry. No details of the terminus. Since I was sorting maps rather than studying them I do not remember any other details.
I have asked our archivist to search our map data-base for a trackage map of the terminal.
