The original Jupiter of 1868 was fitted with ordinary locomotive wheels, like other engines of the time. Hi-Rail and Scale wheels are used in model locomotives. Several model locomotives representing Jupiter have been made in many different scales and gauges, often with oversized tires and flanges, to ensure the model stays on the track when in operation.
