    Here are the identities of the four men that Stanford University identifies them as:
    AL Bowsher, RW Baxter, RA Murphy, AB Cooper who contributed to the creation of the Central Pacific Railroad line - Stanford University

    I'd say the photo is from the late teens, likely taken at Stanford University. No idea who the photographer was.
