ReplyDeleteAgain, thanks for all this. It's a real treasure trove. And yeah, safety is upper most. Am interested in the whole line over the Sierras but especially the parts that have been abandoned and nearly forgotten. Last summer we visited the tunnels in Donner Pass - very impressive, obviously, and hope eventually, taking things in short bites, to hike much of the rest of the right-of-way. Next goal is to visit Bloomer's Cut, which I know is still in use. Fascinating history. Thanks again.
