Eagle Scout Project - restoration of a Railway Express Baggage Cart

From: "Suchernick Michael" HMSPhasmid@optonline.net

I am a Boy Scout in Troop 156, Howell NJ. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project which is the restoration of a Railway Express Baggage Cart. The cart that I am restoring belongs to the New Jersey Museum of Transportation, Pine Creek Railroad. All that is left of the cart presently are rusted rusted wheel assemblies and side straps – no wood exists at all. Can you help me in locating blueprints for REA Baggage carts and possibly proper paint information? ...

Were you ever able to get plans for your baggage cart? How large was the cart?

Thank you for your interest in my Eagle project and historic restoration. I was able to get plans for my baggage cart. I will have to dig them out again, and would be happy to share any information the Central Pacific Railroad Photographic History Museum would like to know. I completed my Eagle Scout project in 2010, and the fully restored railway express baggage cart once again resides at the New Jersey Museum of Transportation, Pine Creek Railroad. I have the plans and other information I gathered during my project. Is there anything else that you are interested in, or would like to know about the cart? ...
