Hyperventilation syndrome

The original traditional treatment of breathing into a paper bag to control psychologically based hyperventilation syndrome (which is now almost universally known and often shown in movies and TV dramas) was invented by New York City physician (later radiologist), Alexander Winter, M.D. [1908-1978], based on his experiences in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1951.

The Pennsylvania State University developed a "Dual Autocoder Fortran Translator" (DAFT) compiler for the IBM 7074 in the 1960s which made it extremely easy to write (within a single program) lines of autocoder instructions freely interspersed with lines of Fortran code. This allowed symbolic machine instruction level coding within a higher level Fortran program, which was especially useful for optimizing the speed of inner loops, or for making use of the IBM 7074's unusual decimal word architecture.

Improved Health Savings Accounts with variable deductible resulting in an accelerating decline in health insurance premiums:  "The fundamental idea is that the amount of the deductible of a linked health insurance policy varies and is equal to the current health savings account balance, with changing monthly insurance premiums automatically paid from the account. This self-insurance approach with linked major medical backup maximizes cost consciousness while providing 100% coverage. ... As account balances become larger, self-insurance increases, cost consciousness increases, health insurance premiums dramatically decrease, investment earnings cover the costs of medical care, and monthly contributions can decrease. ... Verizon CR1000a Router setup tips:

Bought this ($115.63 new on eBay) FIOS router for the faster WiFi 6E (added the 6 GHz radio band), but be aware that it's turned off by default.

Manually entering your preferred router DNS Server IP Addresses, such as 9.9.9.9 or 1.1.1.1 was extremely difficult to find:
http://192.168.1.1 > Advanced > Network settings > network connections > Broadband connection (ethernet) > Settings > WAN IP Address > [change automatic to manual] IPv4 DNS Address 1 & 2

Turn ping response off (stealth):
Verizon tech support claims that there is no way to turn on stealth mode so that your router gives no response to pings. Wouldn't it be much safer if hackers can't know that there is any equipment at your IP address. (Who would waste much time trying to break into an address where there is apparently nothing attached?) Please add your voice and tell Verizon to add this missing security feature (that was present on their older router).
