When did the transcontinental railroad end?
posted from CPRR Discussion Group at 9:14 PM
The transcontinental railroad never ended – it is still running as the Union Pacific Railroad. Not sure what you are actually asking. The construction (mostly) ended with the joining of the rails on May 10, 1869 at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory.
