Home-schooling information about the transcontinental railroad

From: "Ann Marie Dierker" dierkers@fuse.net

My name is Ann Marie Dierker and I am a home-school Mom. In November we will be studying the Transcontinental Railroad with our co-op of 5 other families.

My question is: Can you send me any brochures or information on the railroad that I might share with my children and students of our co-op?

I would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you, in advance for your help! ...

The CPRR Museum does not have any printed brochures, but we do have thousands of pages of instantly available information about the transcontinental railroad online which the children can read, as well as historic pictures, maps, and information about the Chinese railroad workers on the Central Pacific Railroad:
CPRR Museum
Readings
Historic Pictures
Railroad Maps
Chinese Workers

The Frequently Asked Questions information for teachers and about homework pictures may also be helpful.

David Bain's meticulously researched and highly detailed book Empire Express is the best modern history of the first transcontinental railroad, and is ridiculously inexpensive on the used market.
