Question: Art Deco Advertisement

From: The Stutzmans

This is probably a weird request, but there is a print located in the Sunset Cafe at the Sunset Station Casino in Henderson, NV that I would love to find.  It is a print of an (for lack of a better word) advertisement for the Pacific Railroad.  It looks like it was created for the early '20s, maybe, because of the way the couple depicted on the print are dressed .... and the lettering is Art Deco.  It includes encouraging travel to the Grand Canyon.  Can you tell me what this is and where I might find a copy?  Nobody there seemed to know anything about it ... I'm sure the architect of the casino made the selection ... the Sunset Cafe has a railroad motif.

Thanks for your help ...

Annette

Trying to figure out if you are describing a poster, a magazine advertisement, or perhaps an enlarged copy of a magazine advertisement. What size is this? Do you know if it is an original or a copy? Can you provide a photograph of the item?

I'd venture a guess it is a Santa Fe Railway poster – and there were many. If you could take a digital photo of it and circulate it, it would be easier to recognize which one it is.

I think I have identified your bar. There appears to be an identical bar in a builder's photo of a car built for the Southern Pacific by the Pullman Company in 1937. Pullman built two Lunch counter Tavern Lounge cars for the then-new Southern Pacific Daylight in February 1937, lot 6500, plan 7379. It shows in Pullman photo #40648, which I think may be available from the Smithsonian Institution in their Pullman photo collection.
