Scott Special, ATSF, 1905

From: cherimoyas@cox.net

Thanks for the ATSF reprint online.  This is great – have you seen the US Borax recent re-release “Death Valley Scotty” episode from their classic radio & tv series, “Death Valley Days?”

It features this and one of the original locomotives, #1010.

Check it out:  www.deathvalleydays.com – under video releases.  I’ve watched it and the train footage is nice.

Here’s a copy of the video jacket from their web.

My grandfather was a dispatcher with the ATSF in the Los Angeles Division in the early 1900s. We found a copy of this brochure in his things, and it appears to be one of the originals, not a reprint.

I also have a handwritten Dispatcher's Logbook of his, dating from January 1st to July 15th, 1917. Fascinating history stuff!

I would like to order a reprint of the [Record Breaking Run of the Scott Special] publication. Thank you.
