Ogden Shasta Route Creamer

From: "Ellen" glyn_ellen@tiscali.co.uk

Could you please help me to date a small cream jug. The mark on the base says:

Southern Pacific Company
Sunset Ogden & Shasta Route
Maddock England Vitrified RgNo 647752

... This appears to be an example of the SP's "Imperial" Pattern and was probably made sometime between 1900 and 1920. For samples of the various Maddock makers marks see "North Staffordshire Pottery Marks," and for a source of general information of railroad collectibles see " Railroadiana Online."

I agree with The Brewster. Shasta Route opened around 1915, I see advertising pieces dated 1915 for the Shasta Route on Ebay fairly regularly. G J Chris Graves, MP #31, NewCastle, AltaCal'a
