Robbery Location [Butch Cassidy (Robert Leroy Parker) and the Sundance Kid (Harry Longbaugh)]
I am wondering if you can help me? I am trying to research "The Great Train Robbery." I need to know where it was that the Wild Bunch got on board and where it was scheduled to stop. I can' t find both answers but I think it was scheduled to stop at Table Rock, Wyoming? I have read through alot of information and some mentions Tipton also. Any help would be appreciated.

The Wild Bunch robbed the train twice, 1899 and 1900. Once at Tipton and once at Wilcox. Both in Wyoming. This led E H Harriman to form a special posse at Cheyenne with a car to hold both them and their horses. They could be carried to the scene of the robbery so quickly in comparison to just going there by horseback. Their horses were fresh and they could follow the trail of the robbers and most likely catch up to them because of this. See:

One robber got on the train at Tipton where it was stopped for water. Tipton and Table Rock are about six miles apart. The safe was blown about half way in between Tipton and Table Rock where the tracks (near the present ones) are closest to I-80. Four robbers present. Three described and the fourth no one could see well enough to identify. Article in the Rawlins Republican. Robbers rode south stopped at Delany Springs, went east around the Haystacks and crossed the Little Snake about twenty miles below Baggs, Wyoming. Posse lost the trail there and looked around another four or five days and gave up the chase. Hard to say who the robbers were but doubtful if Butch Cassidy participated. Harvey Logan more likely
I have read about the Great train Robbery where 17 Crews hijacked the Mail train and robbed around 2.6 million pounds.
