S P and the Bull Dog RR
I am sending along a picture of a shovel-head that is marked thus; 8 35 BULL DOG RR S P LINES. I am familiar with August, 1935, I have seen the railbed of the Bull Frog RR near Rhyolite, Calif., and the SP Lines is not a stranger here. BUT, I have NEVER heard of the BULL DOG Railroad, and why would the Bull Dog RR be associated with the SP?
I would guess the BULL DOG RR refers to the type or maker of the shovel, does anyone else have a theory?

Hi,I bought a shovel yesterday at a Missouri estate auction that has a Bull Dog RR mark on it too. Is there anybody out there that knows anything about it? E-You,Later!
I too have two Bulldog RR shovels one is marked SAL RY the other is not marked though both are in excleent condintion due to fire hardened handles from accutal use and i do believe i have an extra one too but the wood is dry rotted and the handle and blade end is in ok condition.
I too ran across a shovel marked BULLDOG R.R. in Montgomery AL. 10/04/09. COGS
