CP's special Police or Detectives

Do you have any information on the Special Detectives (Special Police) that the Central Pacific and Southern Pacific RRs had in the 1860's 1870's or 1880's?

In particular, a detective F. T. Burke, Detective Hume or Detective True? ...

F. T. Burke was born in Ireland about 1830. He worked as an agent for the CPRR in 1870, living in Sacramento, California.
