Another myth

Myth: An online article claims that "Theodore Judah ... died in November of 1863 before a single track was laid and was quickly forgotten."

Correction: The railroad's Memoriam for Theodore D. Judah published at the time of his death and subsequent writings show that Judah certainly was not "forgotten." Also, the first rail of the Central Pacific Railroad was laid at Sacramento, California in October, 1863, while Judah died several days later in New York City in November 1863, so saying that he died "before a single track was laid" is not actually true.
