How many of those 1865 box car plates have been found?

At least three, likely more. Don't know how many total CPRR 1865 baggage car plates have been found, but they are very rare.

The person who would have known was G.J "Chris" Graves, who unfortunately is deceased, so we can now longer obtain his wisdom.

Central Pacific Railroad is "CPRR," not "CPL."

Anyone know what the above unknown's "CPL" logo stands for?

It is not from the Central Pacific Railroad. Looks nothing like the CPRR 1865 baggage car plate, also shown above.

Perhaps one of the "Lumber" companies?
