'Pear' rail at Cisco

From: "Chris Graves" caliron@att.net

I had the opportunity to escort a most pleasant tourist of Chinese descent today over the old grade. Included in that tour was the borrow pit at Cisco.

For those that have an interest, all of the pear rail at Cisco has been removed; the earliest branded rail noted was 1876 Carnegie, I would guess it to be 75 lb rail.

The original copper uninsulated telegraph wire is still abundant, I also saw one original construction spike.

That pear rail at Cisco was darn near the end of the rail still to be seen in the 'wild,' sure hope some Museum got it ...
